Biography
Aka Lomholt Formular Press. Niels Peter Lomholt was born 17 February 1943 in Slagelse, Denmark. After his graduation (MFA) from Bath Academy of Art, England, he moved back to Denmark. Lomholt was introduced to the Mail Art Network in 1971 by Eric Andersen, the Fluxus artist, and Klaus Groh. Mail Art activities ended in 1985. One of Lomholt’s main contributions to Mail Art was the formulae work, “Lomholt Formular Press”.
Lomholt has worked in painting, photography, video and installation art. His main work has been video, tapes and installations, some 40 productions from 1971–2010.
1988–2007 Lomholt was art school headmaster (Kunsthoejskolen på Aeroe).
In 2010 he published “Lomholt Mail Art Archive, Fotowerke and Video Work” (640 pages, 3333 illustrations, English) with main focus on the Mail Art Network.
