Biography

Mogens Otto Nielsen was born in Nykøbing, Denmark in 1945. Today the most active Danish Mail Artist lives in Hjallerup. Since 1974 he has been active in the Mail Art network and is known for his large-sized stampsheets.

From the material he receives he designs room filling environments. These develop new kinds of meaning in artistic communication and document the events of the day. He even arranged several Mail Art events, i.e. in 1983 International Posthændelse/International Postal Events at the Jomfru Ane theatre in Aalborg, in 1984 Thou Art (together with Carsten Schmidt-Olsen) and in 1989 Atmosphere (besides others with Henning Christiansen). His credo is: Atmosphere Controlled.
