Biography
Ko de Jonge was born in Middelburg, The Netherlands, in 1945. He lives and works in Vlissingen/Middelburg. From 1970 to 2006 he was teaching art in secondery education. He produces drawings, collages, objects and installations. Furthermore he is a designer and contributor of the literary periodical “Ballustrada”. He is the curator of the “wALLofsmALLart”.
Since the early seventies he has been working with Mail Art. He participated in many international projects and organized several projects himself. His most well known project is “ARTisSTARTplus”, that started in 1982 and is still going on. It’s a library of contemporary art and consists of artists’ books. All the books have the same size and title. The invited artists make the difference. There are more than 1200 of these books in the archives.
