Biography
Ed Varney aka Big Dada. Born in New Rochelle, New York 1942. Immigrated as a draft dodger to Canada in 1968. Lived in Vancouver until 2004 when I moved to a rural property on Vancouver Island. Refers to Canada as Canadada. Poet, visual artist, publisher, Mail Artist since 1971. Began with small poetry magazine - traded not sold. He started producing his own artistamps in 1984, heads the Museo Internacionale de New Art and is the creator of Mondo Postale. His collection of art takes up a whole barn and a couple of attics. Continuous involvement in Mail Art, Fluxus, and Dada until the present. Co-ordinated many Mail Art projects and exhibitions.
