Biography
Cornelius (Kees) Francke was born September 18, 1952 and died in 2002. Kees as he preferred to be known in the Mail Art-Network was active from 1973 till 1993. Mail Art-Projects include: “Just Another Mail Art Show” (1976) with an exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, “Third Armpit Show” (1979), exhibitions in the U.S.A. and Japan, “Seduction of the West by the Lure of the East” (1983), exhibition in Japan and the most well known Mail Art-Project “Workers’ Paradise” (1986), with exhibitions in the GDR, Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands. He was passionate about his art, created poetry, constructed multi-media pieces, paintings and computer artworks. He died June 24, 2002 from a heart attack.
