Biography

Peter van der Meijden (Amsterdam, 1969) is a Dutch art historian, critic and curator, now living in Copenhagen. He has studied art history at the universities of Amsterdam, Essex and Copenhagen and was awarded his doctoral degree in 2010 for a dissertation on Fluxus in northwestern Europe. He is currently working on a postdoctoral research project on immaterial art and the museum from the 1960s until the present. Recent publications include: “This Way Brouwn: The Archive – Present, Past and Future” in Gunhild Borggreen & Rune Gade (eds.), Performing Archives/Archives of Performance (2013), nine essays on Fluxus events in Holland and Denmark in Petra Stegmann (ed.), The Lunatics Are on the Loose!...: European Fluxus Festivals, 1962-1977 (2012) and “Lomholt Formular Press, 1975-1985” in Niels Lomholt & Lene Aagaard Denhart (eds.), Lomholt Mail Art Archive, Fotowerke and Videowork (2010).
